 Toyota Hilux India to compete with Isuzu’s V-Cross pickup is scheduled for September 2021 -Technology News, Firstpost

Toyota Killros Car Motor India plans to bring Toyota Hilux 4×4 pickups to the Indian market by the 2021 holiday season. The Hilux, along with Fortuner and Innova, will be the third model based on the Japanese automaker’s IMV platform and is expected to share a significant number of components with these very popular products. The 2021 Toyota Hilux will be assembled locally in the country and will compete with another recently reintroduced pickup truck, the Isuzu V-Cross.

The Indian Toyota Hilux will be equipped with the same 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder turbo diesel as the recently facelifted Toyota Fortuner. Combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission, this motor produces 204 horsepower and 500 Nm. When combined with a 6-speed manual, the torque output drops to 420 Nm.
