Dhaka stocks in the past week advanced for the 12th week with the key index crossing 7,250 points for the first time as investors flocked to the capital market amid a relentless surge in share prices on the bullish market.
DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, gained 3.98 per cent, or 277.69 points, over the past week to hit an all-time high of 7,258.75 points on September 9, the last trading session of the week. The index gained 1,206 points in the past 12 weeks.
The index crossed the 7,000-points mark for the first time on September 9.
The DSEX gained all the sessions of the past week as investors increased buying of shares amid a relentless surge in share prices, market operators said.
