A fancy type of mobile speed camera that can clock speed as well as registration details is still catching drivers one year after it was first introduced.
Ten drivers will soon be getting an unwelcome surprise in the post regarding their excessive speed after being caught by the hi-tech cameras in the Stroud area.
Unlike previous mobile speed cameras, the Trucam device means drivers do not have to be stopped and issued a ticket. They were first used in the county in late November 2020.
Instead, they will be notified by post about their speed where they could face fines or invitations to speed awareness courses.
The new cameras, which have been used in Gloucestershire for a year now, also mean they can be operated by PCSOs as well as police officers.
