Llewellin Road is an unremarkable street in the historic Herefordshire market town of Kington. There are about 60 properties, largely terrace houses built in the 1960s. It’s full of families and elderly residents, many of whom have lived there for years. What makes Llewellin Road stand out though, is that in the past 18 months more than 100 companies have been set up there by Pakistani nationals.
Not one of them lives on the road.
A short walk away on Bridge Street, the phenomenon has also happened. In a two-bed flat above a mobile phone shop, there are 30 seemingly unconnected businesses registered to 30 different names.
